FALL HAPPENINGS/ NEEDS

TRICK OR TREAT NIGHT IN ST. CLAIR…Since Halloween is on Sunday this year, we will let you know what the county decides about the suggested night for neighborhood Trick or Treat activities when / if the county feels Saturday is a better/safer night than Sunday for that activity. And, “YES!..the friendly, inflatable “ghosts” will appear again this year at the front entrance to St. Clair on Friday or Saturday before Halloween.

THE ANNUAL MEETING IS SET FOR 3 PM, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER  14, IN THE CELEBRATION HALL OF WESLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH at FREDERICA. The proposed budget for 2022 will be presented and voted on by the membership. There is one seat on the SCHA Board being vacated by Linda Wood who has served two two-year terms and cannot be reelected to the board until she has been off the board for one term. All other board members are serving the second year of their first two- year terms. If you would like to offer to serve on the SCHA Board of Directors, please email Bill Tipton  [email protected]). Board members need to be residents of St. Clair whose annual SCHA dues ($125) are paid in full.

2ND ANNUAL ST. CLAIR NEIGHBORHOOD YARD SALE SET FOR SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4,

8 am. – NOON! This activity is sponsored by the SCHA. Please call Nancy Muldowney (912/230-1243) or email her ([email protected]) if you want to participate by selling your items from your location. Plans are to have a map with participating homes listed. THE SCHA WILL ADVERTISE THE SALE and will have day-of-the sale signage. You keep your own cash box and keep all your proceeds. THERE ARE PLANS FOR A NEIGHBORHOOD GATHERING AFTER THE SALE AT A LOCATION TBD WITH A FOOD TRUCK!

The “TWO OLD GUYS” who used to cut the parkway grass have been replaced by Keith Osteen, a wonderful one-person lawn maintenance operation, who has brought the St. Clair parkway back up to snuff. Thanks to everyone who has stopped to tell him what a great job he is doing for the neighborhood. FYI…He would like to add a few more customers in St. Clair so he can spend more time when he is here to cut the parkway. Call him at 912/ 580-9669.

THE SAME “TWO OLD GUYS” ARE LOOKING FOR A SCOUT with adult supervision to take over putting up and taking down the three American flags at the entrance to St. Clair and the three flags installed at the western end of the parkway on five (5) designated times each year (Memorial Day weekend in May through Monday; Flag Day, June 14; Independence Day week, July 4th; Labor Day, the first weekend and Monday in September and Veterans Day weekend including Nov 11). Requires climbing a ladder to install the center flag on the iron entry. Email Bill Tipton ([email protected]) for details or questions.

THE SAME “TWO OLD GUYS” ARE LOOKING FOR TWO OR THREE FOLKS to begin to learn how to install the lighted HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS (EASY GROUND ONLY OPERATION….These decorations are only up for the few days before Halloween) and Christmas decorations at the entry to St. Clair provided by the SCHA (these decorations go up the weekend after Thanksgiving). Installing the Christmas decorations include climbing up a ladder and knowing how to plug plugs into the unit to get the big (central bow light ) Again, Email Bill Tipton ([email protected]) with offers to help or questions).

All the best,

Bill T.
